The Liberal Arts Collaborative on Emerging Tech (LACET) is a collaborative of individuals formally involved with AI at small liberal arts colleges thinking through AI together. AI is reshaping higher education faster than most of us can settle how we feel about it. The people carrying this work on our campuses are making consequential decisions without a settled playbook, and rarely on their own - almost nothing here moves without colleagues across the college. Small liberal arts colleges are working from particular conditions and commitments: fewer people wearing more hats, and an education built on inquiry, community, lifelong learning, and student agency. That work needs a conversation of its own, grounded in those conditions and the questions they raise. We bring people together across roles and campuses, and share what we learn along the way.
The Aligning AI with Liberal Arts Values Series
This academic year we're exploring how colleges can align AI with liberal arts values. Each webinar brings together panelists with a different perspective (faculty and staff, alumni, current students, and campus leadership), and each is followed by a LACET Chat in which participants engage with one another on the topic.

Alumni panelists of small liberal arts colleges discuss the liberal arts values that shaped them, how those values hold up in a world being reshaped by AI, and what they would want their colleges to consider now.
